David Schwab: Welcome to the Schwab Report. This is David Schwab. Today my guest is Dr. Jason Denise. Dr. Denise is a cosmetic and restorative dentist, and he joins me today from his office in Annapolis, Maryland.

Dr. Denise, what are veneers and how can they help someone have a better smile?

Dr. Denise: A veneer is a wafer thin layer of porcelain that we place on the outside of the teeth. We do this for a variety of reasons. We can correct poorly, discolored teeth, teeth that are not aligned properly. We can change the color, shape and contour of the teeth with these porcelain veneers.

I like to use the analogy of it’s like an acrylic nail in that only a very small amount of tooth structure is really moved in order to place the porcelain veneer on the outer surface of the tooth.

David Schwab: So if someone comes into your office and they want to have veneers, how many appointments would it take in your office before they could have this beautiful smile?

Dr. Denise: Oh, good point. The whole process of fabricating veneers can be done in as little as two to three appointments. This is an incredible change with very few visits to the dental chair.

David Schwab: I would like to thank Dr. Denise for joining us today. Dr. Denise is accepting new patients, and he may be contacted through his website annapolisdds.com.

This is David Schwab, thanks for watching.
